Successful logo design has many elements. Though commonly used in architecture and industrial design, the phrase “form follows function” was repeated often in my years of design school. The idea that we design items to our visual desires is always dominant but we often have to consider “how will it be used?” I use this theory when illustrating client logos and I often find myself reminding everyone that we need to use the design in many, many ways. Does it have clean lines? Is the font simple to read? Will it get the idea across whether it’s on a sign, website or a baseball cap?
Here’s some fun visual examples of designs in embroidery, a website and on a truck. It’s also important to hire an experienced vendor for the job! These are all things I help my clients with once we’ve done a final logo design. Effective marketing is a broad journey but I’m always here to help!
